From now until July, I will give away a prize or three each month to help spread the word about Can’t Buy Me Love and Durham, NC, the amazing city where the novel is set. Today I’m sharing the love with Bean Traders, the local coffee establishment where I wrote 95% of the novel.
Go like my Facebook author page [Click Here], then come back and leave a comment on this post by 10am EST, Sunday, February 17, 2013. I’ll pick three winners to receive either the blue banjo towel, the red banjo towel, or the orange Bean Traders mug pictured in this post. (Make sure to include your email address on your comment so I can contact you if you win!) If you’re from Durham, tell me what you love best about the city in the comment. If not, tell me your favorite hot beverage and why you love it.
I am not receiving any kickbacks or other renumeration for this giveaway; I’m just doing it to spread the Durham love and the word about my book. Fun fact: Banjos show up in the novel, too!
Oh, and here’s the tag on the tea towels, which are made locally:

Hey Summer! My favorite hot beverage would be a chai tea latte! They are so good! The blue towel is my favorite!
So excited for you and your book!

We “braved” Durham long before it was cool to live here. I have always loved it- affordability, diversity, pluckiness- Durham believed in itself long before the rest of the Triangle did and did its best to woo those from the surrounding towns. We knew the secret of Durham long ago and now are happy that the rest of the world has realized the jewel that it is. Earl Grey is my favorite hot beverage.

I have never been to Durham. I love hot chocolate with whipped cream

I like Durham for the people. Without them, it wouldn’t be as awesome as it is. But I’m not from Durham, am I? So my favorite hot beverage is tea. Any tea that smells nice. My go to tea is English Breakfast. Cheap brand Tazo Awake. I don’t think I have to tell you why I love tea.
I’m just here for the food… and the coffee.
Double espresso.
Once at morn, and once at noon.
Warm hugs for the brain.
I’ve driven through Durham a few times when I lived in Charlotte, NC and traveled up to Virginia. North Carolina is a wonderful state– those banjo towels remind me of listening to the Avett Brothers while driving on 85!
My favorite hot drink would be salted caramel hot chocolate with extra whipped cream (and extra caramel on top!)
My email is mcm488 at gmail. I liked you on Facebook.
And the winners, as determined by a random number generator, are Vladimir, Travels with Mary, and Leslie! Vladimir and TwM will receive banjo tea towels, and Leslie will receive the mug! I’ll email y’all to arrange shipping. Congrats!
